Behind the Haystacks wins big at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (Goa)

The Best Debut Award goes to Asimina Proedrou for her debut feature film, Behind the Haystacks, “to recognize and encourage the most prominent directorial talent in World Cinema”.

“Behind the Haystacks is a culmination of an intense psychological dissertation of redundant morality, ingrained aversiveness towards the ethnic refugee crisis and awakening adolescent consciousness”. (The Rationale of the Jury)

The International Film Festival of India is officially categorized as an A list film festival by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association) and is one of the fifteen biggest film festivals worldwide.

Behind the Haystacks was developed through the Talents Sarajevo Script Station 2015, the Berlinale Talents Script Station 2016, and the FIRST FILMS FIRST 2016-2017.

It is a Greek – German – N. Macedonian co-production: Argonauts Productions (Ioanna Bolomyti), FICTION PARK (Markus Halberschmidt), Sektor Film (Vladimir Anastasov, Angela Nestorovska). Executive Producers: Panos Papahatzis, Maria Tsigka.
