Porto Leone

Piraeus, 1964–1965—a period of stark contrasts and intense emotions. On one side is the world of Trouba, Piraeus’ most vibrant and controversial neighborhood, known for freedom, allure, moral laxity, and uncontrolled desires. On the other side is the city’s bourgeoisie, thriving while upholding moral codes, conservatism, and social repression.

At the center is Porto Leone, the largest cabaret in Trouba, where day meets night, lives are lost in smoke, music carries the soul, and comfort is found in the simplest of touches. Trouba, after all, “is feminine.” Dark secrets, unspoken passions, and intense stories unfold.

Two families—the Voulgaris family (Dinos Voulgaris: Antonis Karystinos, Klelia Renesi) and the Kapetanakos family (Ilias Kapetanakos: Alekos Syssovitis, Marina Aslanoglou)—engage in an underground feud threatening to destroy everyone around them. Dinos Voulgaris, a shipowner and upright businessman, prevents his son Grigoris (Vasilis Milionis) from associating with Stratos (Aris Antonopoulos), the son of Ilias Kapetanakos, owner of the most famous cabaret in Trouba, Porto Leone. A betrayal, an affair, and a tragic event trigger a domino effect, unraveling the intricate relationships between the two families. Among them is Spyros Yiamaris (Vasilis Bispikis), a policeman loyal to the Kapetanakos family who will betray them for personal reasons…

From Sun to Sun

The period drama series is based on Mary Kontzoglou’s duology “From Sun to Sun”, which includes the two parts “Aposperitis” and “Anesperos.”

The story is adapted for television by Maria Georgiadou, with direction by Vasilis Tselemengos and Christos Anagnostopoulos.

The series portrays real historical events, focusing on the 1916 miners’ strike in Serifos—a landmark moment in the history of the labor movement. Combining historical research with fictionalized storytelling, it brings to life an era of struggle, conflict, and deeply personal stories.

Perseas is the son of a miner killed in the mines of Serifos, and of Katerineta, a strong, uncompromising, yet sensitive woman who defied all societal “rules” and taught her son to hold his head high, just as she did. As a young man, Perseas is forced to follow his father’s path in the mines, working “from sun to sun,” from dawn until dusk, to survive on the harsh, barren island. Yet the grueling labor and constant danger cannot prevent the love that blossoms between him and Andromeda, the daughter of his family’s enemy, nor can they suppress their dreams of a better future, with humane working conditions for all.

Why, father, why?

One funeral, three siblings, and €3 million. What could possibly go wrong?

When the notorious rogue and underworld godfather, Lefteris Tsatsanis (Ilias Valasis), dies, he leaves behind… utter chaos. His inheritance? A missing suitcase with €3 million and a hair salon. Who ends up paying the price? First in line are Tsatsanis’ three forgotten children from three different marriages, each unaware of the others: Nikos (Konstantinos Liaros), Fontas (Michalis Michalakidis), and Vivi (Theano Kladi).

Joining them in the chaos are a former sister-in-law, Antigone (Konstantina Michail), an ex-wife, Chryso (Foteini Papachristopoulou), a hairdresser, Magda (Niki Lami), a manicurist, Dakis (Thanos Birkos), and Tsatsanis’ right-hand man, Michailos (Michalis Leventogiannis). Adding to the mix, unintentionally, are Antigone’s wealthy best friend, Loukia (Elena Meggrelis), Chryso’s kind-hearted but clumsy friend, Diamanto (Amalia Ninou), Vivi’s best friend, Tasos (Christos Gavriilidis), and Tasos’ father, Orestis (Nikos Papadopoulos).

After the shock of meeting, the three siblings confront Michailos, who appears threateningly the very night of the funeral, demanding his share of a robbery he committed with their father. The loot? €3 million! While Tsatsanis had originally agreed to split the money with him, just before dying he revealed that he gave all the money to one of his three children. The siblings swear they know nothing. But someone is lying… who has the €3 million?
